The
Texas Business Group on Health is dedicated to supporting employers
and employer coalitions across the state in their quest for affordable
and high-quality health care. TBGH represents Texas employers' positions
on proposed changes in state and federal health policy through an
ongoing dialogue with employers, health insurers, health care providers
and government.
Founded in 1985 as a not-for-profit corporation, TBGH is recognized
as the voice of business regarding employer-sponsored health care
in Texas and a guiding influence and leader in health care policy
development. Today, the Texas Business Group on Health includes
175 member employers that are also members of eight regional business
groups on health. These companies employ approximately 450,000 Texas
workers and spend about $20 billion on health care for these employees
and their families each year.
The
DFW Business Group on Health is a regional, employer-sponsored healthcare
coalition that brings together leaders and decision makers from
a variety of businesses. DFWBGH has 110 members representing approximately
500,000 employees, spouses and family members. Major employers represented
include American Airlines, Bell Helicopter Textron, EDS, ExxonMobil,
Frito-Lay, JC Penney, Southwest Airlines, Texas Instruments, TXU
and Verizon. Together, these 110 companies spend approximately $1.2
billion annually on health care for their DFW employees alone.
DFWBGH is committed
to promoting and maintaining a market-based health care system that
provides quality, accountability and affordability. Our primary
goals are to promote health care quality and cost effectiveness,
and empower employees to make informed decisions about their health
care.
